Custom Made Orders: Custom made items, including made to measure, personalised and custom coloured products, are made specifically for you after your order is placed. Lead times are approximately 10-20 working days from your order date, not including weekends or bank holidays. Please allow for this time when placing your order. Lead times can vary during periods of high demand or material delays.

Ready to Ship Orders: Our Ready to Ship collection contains premade, in-stock items that are available for immediate despatch. These items are non-customisable and clearly labelled as 'Ready to Ship' in their title. We aim to despatch Ready to Ship items within 5 working days. Please note that stock levels vary and items may become available after you place your order.

Mixed Orders: If your order contains both a custom made item and a Ready to Ship item, both items will be despatched together once your custom made item is complete. Please contact us at hello@hugoandtedltd.com before ordering if you have any special requirements.

Delivery Times: Please note that making times and delivery times are separate. Once your order has been despatched, an additional delivery period applies depending on your location and courier.

Returns & Custom Orders: Items that are custom made, including made to measure, personalised, or items with customised webbing or multiple selected colours, are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged. Please review our full returns policy before placing your order.

Customs Fees & Import Duties: For orders outside the UK, customs fees, import duties and destination taxes may be charged upon arrival in your country. These charges are set by your local government and are entirely outside our control. Customers are solely responsible for paying any customs fees or import duties on their order. EU customers should be aware that VAT at your country's applicable rate is now payable on imports from the UK. If you are unsure what charges may apply, we strongly recommend checking your country's import policies before placing your order. Please note that if customs fees are not paid and your order is returned to us, we are unable to refund made-to-measure, personalised or custom made items, or any postage costs.

Please read all safety information carefully before use. By purchasing and using Hugo and Ted products you confirm that you have read and understood these guidelines.

Supervision: Always supervise your dog when wearing any item of clothing, a collar, lead, harness or any other Hugo and Ted product. Never leave your dog unattended whilst wearing any product. Remove all clothing, collars and accessories when your dog is unsupervised, sleeping, or in a crate.

Introducing Products: Introduce all new products gradually and at your dog's pace. Ensure your dog is calm and comfortable throughout. Never force your dog to wear or use any product. If your dog shows any signs of distress, discomfort, restricted movement or difficulty breathing, remove the product immediately and discontinue use.

Collars & Leads: For dogs that pull on the lead or wear a collar daily, we strongly recommend selecting the plastic buckle option or transitioning to a harness for improved control and reduced strain on your dog's neck. Hugo and Ted cannot be held liable for injury caused by a dog pulling against a collar or lead.

Fit & Sizing: It is the customer's sole responsibility to ensure that all products are correctly fitted before use. Products that are too tight may restrict breathing or movement; products that are too loose may cause your dog to become tangled or escape. Inspection & Wear: Regularly inspect all products for signs of wear, damage, fraying, weakened stitching, or deterioration. If any part of a product appears damaged, weakened or compromised in any way, discontinue use immediately. Hugo and Ted cannot be held liable for injury or damage caused by continued use of a worn or damaged product.

Chewing & Ingestion: Do not allow your dog to chew, bite or ingest any part of any Hugo and Ted product. No product is designed to be chew-proof or indestructible. Buttons, fastenings, toggles, cord, webbing and other components may present a choking hazard if chewed or ingested. Always supervise your dog and remove products if chewing behaviour is observed.

Product Durability: No Hugo and Ted product is indestructible. All products are handmade from fabric and haberdashery components which are subject to normal wear and tear over time. The lifespan of any product will depend on usage, washing frequency, and your individual dog's behaviour. Regular inspection and timely replacement of worn products is the customer's responsibility.

Puppies & Elderly Dogs: Exercise additional caution when using any product on puppies or elderly dogs. Puppies develop rapidly and products should be checked regularly for fit. Elderly dogs may have reduced mobility or sensitivity - ensure products do not restrict movement or cause discomfort.

Washing & Care: Always follow the care instructions provided with your order. Incorrect washing may cause shrinkage, distortion or deterioration of products which may affect their safety and fit. Do not use products that have been incorrectly washed and have changed shape or size.

Limitation of Liability: Hugo and Ted products are designed and handmade with care, but no product can guarantee the safety of your dog in all circumstances. Hugo and Ted shall not be held liable for any injury, loss or damage to your dog, yourself or any third party arising from the use or misuse of our products, failure to follow safety guidelines, use of a worn or damaged product, or incorrect fit. It is the customer's sole responsibility to ensure products are used safely and appropriately at all times.

Most of our products are machine washable. Please always check the care label on your item before washing to avoid damage.

Wash items on a gentle cycle using cold or lukewarm water.

Use mild detergent and avoid bleach or harsh chemicals.

Wash similar colours together to prevent colour transfer.

Turn garments inside out before washing to help preserve quality and print/design.

Drying & Care:

Do not tumble dry. Air drying is recommended for best results.

Lay flat or hang to dry in a warm, well-ventilated room.

Avoid direct heat sources such as radiators.

Do not iron unless stated on the care label. If ironing is required, use a low heat setting and avoid printed areas. Always cover with a cotton lining if you are unsure about ironing.

Please follow our measurement guide carefully to ensure the best possible fit. For made to measure products, each coat is made to the exact measurements provided at the time of ordering.

Double check all measurements before submitting your order. Made to measure products are made from tried and tested patterns that we use to make products to.

The chest should be the biggest measurement you provide for made to measure clothing.

Round up any none whole numbers to the nearest full number (for example, 17.5 inches becomes 18 inches).

Ensure 1 inch = 2.5 cm.

We use our own sizing system so measurements or sizes from other brands cannot be used as a reference. Please always refer to our measurement guide.

Measure over the fur without pulling the tape tight and allow enough room for a comfortable, wearable fit (the tape should be able to move freely). Add two fingers between the tape and body for the chest and neck measurements.

For growing puppies, please add any extra room needed for growth to the measurements you send - made to measure products are made to the sizes provided and we do not add additional allowance unless it is included in your measurements.
