The Perfect New Puppy Gift Guide - Thoughtful Gifts for Dogs & Their Owners

Whether you're shopping for a friend who's just brought home their first dog, or treating yourself to something special to mark the occasion, finding a gift that's genuinely thoughtful - rather than just another squeaky toy - can be tricky. At Hugo and Ted, everything we make is handmade in Britain, and our puppy collection is designed to help you celebrate that very first chapter in style.

Here are our favourite picks for new puppy owners.

1. The Coming Home Jumper® - The Ultimate First-Day Gift

There's nothing quite like the moment a puppy comes home for the first time. Our Coming Home Jumper® was designed exactly for that occasion - a beautifully made fleece jumper that keeps new puppies warm and snug as they settle into their new surroundings. It's become one of our most-loved pieces, and makes an incredibly special gift for anyone welcoming a new dog.

2. Personalised Puppy Blanket

Soft, cosy, and made to last, our Personalised Puppy Blanket can be customised with your puppy's name - making it a keepsake as much as a practical comfort item. Perfect for the car journey home, the crate, or the sofa (let's be honest).

3. Puppy Milestone Cards

The first bath. The first walk. The first time they steal a sock. Our Printed Puppy Milestone Cards are a lovely way to capture those early moments, a set of 10 beautifully designed cards to photograph alongside your puppy as they grow. Prefer digital? We also offer a Digital Download version for instant delivery. You can print these at home with an inkjet printer onto A5 or A6 card.

4. Personalised Dog Memory Box

For the owner who wants to keep every little memory - first collar, first toy, first vet card - our Personalised Dog Memory Box is a keepsake they'll treasure for years. Available as a standalone box or as part of our Build Your Own Bundle, which lets you add the blanket, milestone cards, and more.

5. Eco-Friendly Fleece Tug Toy

Handmade from recycled fleece, our Wonky Bone Dog Toy and Eco Tug Toy are gentle on puppy teeth and kind to the planet. A small but lovely addition to any new puppy gift.

Build Your Own Puppy Gift Set

Can't choose? Our Build Your Own Dog Memory Box Bundle lets you mix and match pieces to create a truly personal gift. It's our most popular option for baby showers, puppy showers, and 'Congratulations on your new addition' moments.
